The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, who was captured in a viral video assaulting another suspect.
According to the Police, Sibamay Zakaria is currently in custody assisting with investigations and will be put before the court.
In a statement issued on August 13, the Police said its Professional Standards Bureau has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Police Service said all persons found culpable will be subjected to the necessary disciplinary processes.
In an earlier statement, the Service strongly condemned the incident and said efforts have been intensified to identify, arrest and prosecute the individual involved.
The police did not provide further details about the location where the incident occurred or the circumstances that led to the assault.
However, it is believed that the incident occurred at the CID premises.
