Ghanaian Afro Fusion star Kelvyn Boy has released a new
project titled 2nd Step and has had a marvelous acceptance by his fans
and music lovers. After being away for a while this serves it right for a
positive comeback. The listening season happened last week Friday at the
One2One Bar inside the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The event which was
intended to be a private listening drew people from far and near in an
unprecedented atmosphere to welcome the Vero hit maker into the limelight once
again.
According to Kelvyn Boy his quietness came after he received
some backlash as he took side in a social commentary. He said a lot happens
after the cameras stop rolling. He narrated that he used to worry about events
but he’s grown to understand proceedings of the entertainment industry and
being content is the best. “The growth has made me happy and I’m thankful I
have been able learn to shift myself from getting into the affairs of people.
Kelvyn Boy came under serious criticism when he got himself involved
in one of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s heated arguments after taking side to
back his former music camp Bhim Nation. Afterwards he made some omissions over
awards nominations criticizing the award body Charter House before coming back
to apologise, which eventually damaged his reputation leading to his adjustment
on how to present himself on social media.
Kelvyn boy was later seen on social media smoking even during live radio interviews which all amounted to his decision to take a break on social media. Thankfully he admits all his shortfalls and strongly believe he has crossed that bridge and currently enjoying growth. “Listening to my music I see an immense change from my first song. How I write songs now has also changed because there are lot of love songs out there, so I put in words that will stand out. With the negatives they shift the attention from the music. I love every artist, If you're close to me you will know I listen to everybody's song but through all that I don't care anymore.
The Afro Beat sensation Kelvyn Boy has demonstrated his dominance in the male vocal space, stamping his name as one of the best to be introduced in the early 2010 coming up. This album serves as his Second from the Black Star Album. The 2nd Step is a 12 track album which includes song like Jehova, Pioneer, Millions which features songstress Cina Soul many others.
Kelvyn Boy said; "I give thanks because of the rise and fall. Fame has gotten me more grounded. It takes away your freedom". He emphasized that, people may treat you nice because it's you. That shouldn't get into your head to think that people love you. "Don't do music because you want to become famous otherwise it might get into your head. If I had a chance to change my face I would, because sometimes it becomes challenging when you want to go somewhere and look unrecognized".
"There have been immense progress since my introduction. Fans don't support each artist equally. Nigerians goes to every show that an artist may host being it their favorite or not. When you're done listening to the 2nd Step album you will begin to see things from a different perspective".
