An Accra High Court Slams lady with life imprisonment for murder || Macqathylive Media

A High Court in Accra has sentenced Lydia Aboagye to life imprisonment after a seven-member jury found her guilty of murdering her husband, Kweku Gyasi, following a domestic dispute at Omanjor in 2021.

The verdict was a 5–2 majority decision by the jury, the minimum majority required under Ghanaian law.

The prosecution’s case was that during an early morning altercation, Lydia allegedly used a broken Coca-Cola bottle to stab her husband in the rib area, causing injuries that led to his death.

The court heard that after the incident, she allegedly left the room, disposed of the broken bottle, and later returned to clean bloodstains before neighbours arrested her.
