Ghana to face Colombia in Round of 32 clash at 2026 World Cup

Ghana's Black Stars will take on Colombia in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Black Stars set to face the South Americans in Kansas City, USA, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The fixture was confirmed after both teams secured qualification from the group stage of the expanded 48-team tournament.

The new World Cup format sees the top two teams from each group, alongside the best third-placed teams, advance to the knockout stage.

Ghana reached the knockout phase after finishing third in Group L. The Black Stars started their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Panama before playing out a goalless draw against England.

They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Croatia in their final group match, but their earlier results were enough to earn them a place in the Round of 32.

Colombia, meanwhile, topped Group K after an impressive unbeaten run. They opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan, followed by a 1-0 victory against DR Congo before ending the group stage with a 0-0 draw against Portugal.

The result secured first place in the group and set up a meeting with Ghana.

The match will be another major test for the Black Stars, who will be hoping to continue their World Cup journey against a strong Colombian side known for their attacking quality.

Ghana will be aiming to produce another memorable knockout-stage performance, while Colombia will look to use their strong group-stage showing as a platform for a deeper run in the tournament.
