Pirates attack fishermen at sea in Senya Breku, steal outboard motors || Macqathylive

 

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, armed pirates att+cked over 50 fishermen from Senya Breku in the Central Region on the open sea.

These p,irates arrived in a black boat, f,ired w+rning s,hots, and seized outboard motors and generators from seven canoes before disappearing into the water.

As the fishermen were left stranded approximately 4,000 metres offshore with no way to move, they had to wait for rescue canoes to tow them back to shore one by one.

The Central Regional Minister, the Gomoa West DCE, and the MP for the area have all confirmed the incident. The Inspector General of Police has since deployed both Marine Police and military personnel to the area in response.

So far, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
