Having gotten seven(7) nominations in the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Opiesie Esther is optimistic of winning many of the categories she has gained this year through hit song Wa Y3 Me Yie released sometime last year.
Though she didn't state the actual time of the release of the song, she gave a gist of artists expected to be on the song which include Ceccy Twum, Kofi Peprah, Joyce Blessing, Ohemaa Mercy and many others.
Speaking on TV3's Road To The VGMA program with Chrystal Kwame Aryee aired on Saturday, she revealed the song "Wa Y3 Me Yie was written based on her true life experiences, that's why the song is highly spirited. Her hopes in this year's VGMA music night the singer is hoping to bag many of the categories. She said once she's been nominated means she stands the chance of winning.
The song has won her The Best Song Writer Of The Year, Female Vocalist Of The Year, Best Music Video Of The Year, Gospel Song Of The Year, Gospel Artist Of The Year, Vodafone Popular Song Of The Year and the ultimate Artist Of The Year, making her the most female nominated for the biggest awards night.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was slated for May 16th this year but had been rescheduled for May 6th at the Grand Arena at the Trade Fair Center in Accra.
