A team by the Republic led by His Excellency the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mamudu Bawumia received the body on behalf of the state. The arrived at about 6:45 PM was flew in by the Turkish Airlines. The mortal remains of the footballer was led by his twin sister, his brother, the Ghana ambassador of Turkey.
Mortal remains of Christian Astu arrives was received by the Ghana Arm Forces at the Kotoka International Airport and had prayers from the national clergy.
According to the Vice President, government is ready to support the family to give Christian Astu a befitting burial. However the Ghana Football Association will together with the family plan on the final funeral arrangements and any information will be channeled to the government then they can get fully involved.
