Manchester United has won their first trophy since 2017. The English team which has gone through thick and thin within a sixth year period has finally had something to smile about after beating New Castle United 2-0 in the carabao Cup final. The Erik Ten Hag men beat New Castle at Wembley stadium to win the ultimate.
Casimero opened the scorelines in the first half in the 33rd minutes and doubled up after Sven Botman's own goal before the break. Ten Hag men last won a trophy under the era of Jose Mourinho in 2016, 2017 season when they won the UEFA Europa League for the third time in history.
This win by Manchester United shattered the dreams of New Castle United of winning a major trophy in seven decades. Before the game the fans had high hopes to end their hunger to be crowned champions. This momentum led them to the Wembley stadium with lots of noise with nothing stopping them. But thier hopes didn't come out as planned.
This defeat leaves New Castle United 54 years of winning a trophy and 68 years of a domestic trophy still continues.
