PPP Parliamentary Aspirant For Awutu Senya East Constituency Resigns

 

The 2016 parliamentary candidate and third vice chairman in the Central Region, Mr. Nana Kweku Appiah -Kwarteng has resigned from the progressive people's party (PPP). It is also believed that the former parliamentary candidate is likely to contest in the upcoming December 7 elections as an independent parliamentary candidate for the Awutu Senya East Constituency. 

Below is a copy of his resignation letter.

Dear Sir, 

RESIGNATION FROM THE POSITION AND PARTY

  

I, Nana Kweku Appiah-Kwarteng, joined the Progressive People's Party (PPP) in 2012 with hopes of winning the political power of Ghana to serve the needs of the people of Ghana. 

Invisioned a party in which all people are treated equally regardless of colour, religion, income or qualification. I had hopes that all people would be given a second chance after an unqualified apology has been rendered for flouting rules. Unfortunately, this was not the case,as it happened to Mr. Isaac Manu,the Central Regional deputy Communications Officer and the Assin North Constituency Aspiring candidate of the PPP, whose suspension was appealed by the colleague Executives but nothing was done by them the executives because apparently, someone was exerting his superior power. 

I fear suffering the same fate as Mr. Manu, as I can not helplessly stand and watch the ruins of the PPP by the actions of us the Executives. But talking about it may cause for my suspension as well.

Again,  I have seen that since we assumed office as  Regional Executives, not much has been done for the aims and objectives of the PPP, which primarily is to win power and rescue the good people of Ghana from the hardships burdened on them by the past and current governments and offer them better livelihood. However, as Executives, instead of focusing on how best we can help achieve this aim, we are rather shattering it by sidelining the abled Executives who can play major roles in achieving our set target.

I therefore can not stand unconcerned to see the party go into a ditch while holding office as the  Third Vice of the Central Region.

For the reasons stated above, I hereby resign from the position as a Third Vice Chairman of the Central Region and the Progressive People's Party (PPP) effective this 18 day of September,2020.

I wish everyone and my colleague Executives the best in the future and hope that they can change this country for the better.
