N’Golo Kante Reportedly Linked With A Move To Man Utd

Manchester United had not long splashed out a club-record £89million on the Frenchman, and they weren’t getting good value for money.

Chelsea, on the other hand, was seemingly getting great value for money from £32m acquisition N’Golo Kante, who also joined the Blues in 2016.

And after being compared to Kante, Pogba took aim at his compatriot, pointing out that he scores more goals.

“I’ve heard Kante is a top, top midfielder, which I agree with,” Pogba told Sky Sports in 2017.

“He is a top-class midfielder for what he does. But he doesn’t score many goals, does he? They don’t speak about this.

“They speak about what he does on the pitch. He gets the ball, he passes the ball and he makes the game. Me, I try to do this.

“I score more goals than Kante but they still say Kante does this and does that. If you want to speak about scoring goals, you should judge every midfielder the same way.

“They only speak about the transfer and about the money. I wanted to say, in real life for a normal person, nobody can be worth £100m.”

Pogba’s comments were a bit bitter looking back, but the Frenchman was merely pointing out the duo are different players.

The pair then went on to win the World Cup together, with both Pogba and Kante standing out as two of France’s slickest operators.

If there was one thing observers witnessed from France’s World Cup-winning campaign it was that Pogba and Kante are fantastic sharing a midfield together… which brings us to 2020.

Kante is seemingly out of favor at Chelsea as Frank Lampard is looking to take his squad in a new direction.

At 29, the Frenchman is one of the older players in the Englishman’s new-look side, and Kante has been linked with the exit after an injury-hit 2019-20.

United has tentatively been linked with Kante in the past but could step up their interest in the midfielder if he is made available for a good price.

Pogba will have no problems slotting in alongside the Frenchman, and Kante will happily act as an anchor behind the goal-hungry Bruno Fernandes.
